We work with educators and administrators at all levels to understand the challenges students face, particularly marginalized students, as they strive to get “to and through” college.

We do this by engaging you in meaningful reflection activities about your own experiences, exposing you to best practices from the research, and guiding you through design labs to help you tailor the research to your own contexts. We also provide workshops and activities that you can bring to your institution to engage students and their parents. In addition to our live events, many of our programs are offered online.

Beyond PTO: Engaging Parents of Marginalized Student Populations

Most agree it takes a village to get a child from pre-school to college, but many schools lack an avenue for engaging parents of marginalized students. This workshop will familiarize you with promising practices in the research on marginalized students and encourage you to consider innovative ways you can partner with parents to support these students through the challenges they face.

Building Your Brand

Many students believe their personal brand is determined by a resume, their social media presence, and their dress-for-success appearances. Although these are important outcomes of developing a personal brand, this workshop explores the actions that are at the root of building a brand that propels students toward the life of their dreams. Bring this highly interactive workshop to your institution and help students explore important skill sets that will help them get the attention of future employers and/or excel in their own businesses.

College Prep…for Parents

Even though it takes a village to get children from pre-school to college, members of the village do not always know what to expect with each new school phase. This informative workshop, which works well as an orientation program, will shatter myths they have about what college will be like for their children, help them anticipate various phases of the college experience, and engage them in brainstorming strategies for providing support.

Get In and Out: Mapping Your College Journey

For most students, the goal is to get in and out of high school or college on the way to a successful career. This workshop, which can be brought to your institution, reframes the concept of “getting in and out” by helping students develop a strategy for getting the most out of their educational experiences – both in and out of the classroom. Through a series of reflection activities, students will re-examine misconceptions they have about the purpose of their education and get energized by developing a journey map that will make their experiences more meaningful and purposeful so they can realize their personal and career goals.

High Impact Parent Workshops

This series of collaborative workshops, which can be offered at your institution, will help parents identify their strengths and talents in child rearing and discover how to harness both to challenge and support their children throughout their educational journeys. Parents will explore their own views and experiences related to education and how these impact their parenting styles. In addition, they will learn about trends and best practices in education and participate in design labs that will challenge them to draw on these practices and their own expertise to brainstorm solutions to issues their children face in school.
